Keep reading for swatches and a review on the Milani Color Statement matte lipstick in the color Matte Blissful!
Right after moisturizing and exfoliating, this product went on very smoothly and looked great. However, after just a few minutes, it started to seep back into the crevices of my lips, just like it did when I did not take the time to exfoliate beforehand.
It feels very lightweight and you can hardly tell it's there, except for the fact that it also definitely feels "matte." It's not so much a "drying" feeling, like it's sucking away any remaining moisture from your lips, more just a feeling of being "matte," if that makes any sense.
When it's time to reapply, you should remove the previous remaining lipstick to prevent cake-i-ness.
And after 3 hours, the lipstick started to look really funky on the inside of my lips (see above pic). And overall, it just looked so dry and it exposed all of the cracks and everything in my lips even when I look care of them beforehand. This is when I decided it would need to go back to the store. I do plan to try another shade from the line, I just feel like this particular one was not the best for my particular lips.
This shade reminded me of NYX Matte Lipstick in Audrey, so I swatched them side by side for comparison. Milani is a cooler pink, but they are in a similar range. I prefer the formula of the NYX lipstick to this particular shade of Milani Matte Color Statement lipsticks anyway.
Thank you for reading!
Love,
Alaina
