Pacifica 7 Free Nail Polish Review - 1972 Pool Party & Dark Desert Highway - Pictures

See my Pacifica haul video here!

I was so excited to try this nail polish out.  I just love testing new polishes.  This one here may be taking over from Flower Beauty as my #1 favorite nail polish!

It is very opaque.  You could definitely get away with one coat if you're in a hurry, but two coats looks perfect.  That is super awesome.

It also dries pretty quickly too.

I put this polish through one of the ultimate tests - I wore it to my grandpa's property in the country.  Swimming in the creek, riding fourwheelers, picking up firewood, and plenty of other fun stuff can really put some wear on your polish.  But this one survived pretty well.  I saw zero chipping all weekend and only minor wear on the tips by Sunday evening.

Wearing this stuff in a normal setting also proves the wear time.  It can get some small scratches into the surface, but it doesn't effect the color.  Another layer of topcoat would fix that right up.

After three days' wear, this polish holds up well, especially compared to so many others that just start disintegrating at the three day mark.  After 6 days, it has significant wear on the tips, but still zero chipping.  Only after I had to apply a BandAid on my finger and had to take it off, did the polish chip because that bandage pulled some polish off.  But under normal conditions, this stuff lasts all week if you want it to.  Just adding another layer of top coat everything couple days would make it perfect.

Overall, I am super impressed with this nail polish and can't wait to get more colors!

Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Facial Cleansing Wipes Cloths Review

Click here to see my Pacifica haul!

These cloths are smaller than most I have tried (Simple, Yes To, Burt's Bees, etc.).  They are also pretty thin and therefore, they don't hold a lot of moisture.

They smelled good at first, like all of Pacifica's stuff, but after awhile the scent started to remind me of Play Dough.

They remove makeup okay, but because the wipes are so small and thin, you might as well just double one up to get the same removing action as so many other cloths on the market, which is not worth it to me.

There are 30 in a pack for $6, which is about the same as others.
They are biodegradable, but so are Yes To & Burt's Bees.

Overall, I would not repurchase, nor would I recommend these wipes.  I love trying new makeup removing wipes, but holy cow, I have never been so disappointed right off the bat with a product like this.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer Review - NC 15

$19 at MAC

I probably could have gone a shade up with this for the summertime, but I know it will suit my winter skin and I know I stay pale for more months than I am tanner.  I am usually very fair-skinned and I know this will suite me fine in the winter months, it just creates an extra highlighted look on my skin right now, which can be balanced out as long as I apply it everywhere I want to highlight instead of just under my eyes.

The pump is super hard to control, it is not at all smooth.  It can be super difficult to get just the right amount of product out of it.  I always end up with too much for my undereyes, but just enough to also highlight the rest of my face with it, so I guess that's okay.  It's just that a little goes a long way and when you can't exactly just get "a little," doesn't it defeat the purpose and make you waste more product anyway?

This concealer does last all day long.  It doesn't fade or break down, but I do notice that it still creases on me when I bring it all the way up to my lower lash line.  For me, this concealer needs to be set with a powder under the eyes, but elsewhere on the face, it sets well on its own.

It looks very very natural on the skin, probably the most natural concealer I have ever come across.  I love wearing it in the essential spots when I'm not wearing foundation, it just looks like my natural skin but so much better.

Overall, I am unsure if I'm going to be repurchasing this concealer, but I am glad I picked it up.

Kat Von D Lock 'n Load Makeup Setting Mist Review

I just don't know how I feel about this stuff.  $24 at Sephora for an item I am on the fence about?  Doesn't sound like a good deal to me... But let's see what I have to say about it...

Packaging:
The packaging feels like metal, both the cap and bottle (the spray head and neck are plastic).  It is a beautiful matte black with dulled silver artwork.  Gorgeous packaging as usual from Kat Von D.

Scent:
Smells like melons.  The scent is definitely not overwhelmingly strong, just very light and refreshing.

Mist:
This mist does not come out as fine as I would like, which is a pain in the butt. For $24, I expect the mist to be lovely.  The mist can come off somewhat splotchy if you hold it too close to your face, but I don't find that it really effects the makeup in the long run, it's not the end of the world if you happen to get a bit of a splotchy application.

It does leave the skin with a bit of a stiff feeling right after spritzing, but within minutes the face feels normal again.

First Impressions:

When testing this out, I sprayed it on half of my face so I could directly compare to my makeup without any setting spray.

6:30 applied
8:30 check up - side of face with setting spray feels dry to the touch, whereas side without is starting to feel a little tacky like my oil is seeping through, however, both sides are not looking oily.
1:00 check up - both sides still looking pretty good, blush/bronzer is staying equally well, both sides feel just as heavy/oily as the other
2:30 check up - upon closer examination, it looks like the non-spritzed side's foundation is breaking up slightly around my nose, while the spritzed side is looking pretty good, blush/bronzer still looking awesome, everything is looking good on both sides

I also used this product one day underneath and over top of my face makeup and it seemed to control my oil a bit.  Usually by about 11:30, I need to re-powder or blot, but on this particular day, it wasn't until about 2:30 that I needed to and I wasn't really even looking that oily at that point either.

Overall, I just don't see this setting spray doing anything crazy awesome for my skin.  It does slightly help my foundation last longer, preventing it from breaking down.  It hasn't really reduced shine due to oils.  I just haven't seen a dramatic difference, that's why I have somewhat mixed feelings about this product.
