Lately I've been wearing glasses more often than my contacts. In fact, I hardly ever wear contacts anymore. This week I decided I would show you guys three different ways to change up your makeup depending on what type of glasses you wear. I've included a more traditional frame, clear frames, and also some large lens glasses, so I hope you can take some tips from each of these videos to accommodate your own glasses preferences. Of course you can definitely learn something from these videos even if you aren't a glasses wearer.

Smaller, More Traditional Black Frames
Typically, I'd say it is best to use matte eyeshadows when wearing glasses since the glass lenses are going to make the eye area reflective anyway, adding shimmer to your eyeshadows is just going to add even more to the shiny, reflective eye area.
This look was neutral in color but adding the dramatic, crisp edge on the outer section of the eye gave the look a slightly different and more interesting look.
I always find that a bold lip is even more spectacular when wearing glasses, so I decided to go with a traditional red lip. But even with a basic red lip, there is always a way to change it up and make it personalized. In the video I recommended a few different red lip products that you might find appealing, and always remember, if you don't think you can wear red lips, you probably just need to try out a different shade. You could go more pinky, orangey, dark, or even a bit more mauve. With a wide selection of red lip products out there, I'm sure you can find your perfect red shade.

Clear Frames
These glasses are somewhat unique but the technique for wearing makeup under these glasses would also coincide with those who wear frameless glasses, where it's just the glass lens held on with the arms of the glasses. These types of glasses leave the eyes more exposed and since they do not have a dark black frame, it's easier to see any eye makeup you have going on under there.
Although I enjoy using matte shadows under my glasses, I find that these types of frames can definitely pull of a shimmery look. The eyes are not hidden like they can seem to be under black frames, helping any shadows underneath to really pop almost as if you aren't wearing any glasses in the first place.
Since my personal glasses have a pinky tint to the frame, I decided to go with pinky shadows on the lid and topped it all off with a bright pink lip.

Large Black Frames
For this final look, I wanted to go with something a little different. Since these are my everyday glasses, I wear all types of makeup with them and I've figured out what looks I think really look awesome with these glasses. For example, I enjoy wearing dark eyeshadows with these glasses for some reason, so I knew I wanted to incorporate that in this look.
Many will tell you that when you wear larger frames that expose much of the undereye area, a cool technique is to add a pop of color or some other interest on the lower lash line so people looking at your glasses will still notice the makeup underneath. While I do think that's a cool way to wear makeup with these types of glasses, I wanted to switch it up for this look.
By leaving the lower lash line bare, this look really exposes your skin and flawless undereye area, bringing the focus of your makeup to the foundation and canvas you've built everything upon.
I went with a nude lip just because I knew I had used two very bold lips in my previous tutorials on makeup for glasses, and I realize most people are not so daring with their personal lip color on a daily basis. I also think the nude keeps from becoming a distraction, competing with the rest of the look.

I really hope you got something out of these videos. Just keep in mind, makeup is really truly all about having fun and letting your creative side come out. My mom and sister have always really been creative types, doing artwork and always just wanting to start a new creative project. I always thought that I just didn't get those genes because I don't particularly enjoy creating their kinds of artwork. But once I started my Youtube channel, I realized that makeup could be my creative outlet and I didn't have to worry about not being creative like the rest of my family. I don't see them trying to create the perfect hot pink lip or dramatic winged eyeliner, but they don't see my crocheting hats and scarves or throwing clay on the pottery wheel. We each have our own little bits of creativity, you just have to find yours and embrace it! :)
