My Secret Diary Post - Week 5 - 1st Trimester Pregnancy Symptoms, Overview, Updates, etc.

If you would like to see a list of my symptoms during the two week wait, click here!

Week 5 - Oct. 9-15, 2015

4 Weeks 3 Days - This must have been "all symptoms attack day." I started feeling weird, it's like I have zero control over my body right now, it just knows what it's supposed to be doing. It's a comforting feeling to know your body can take care of itself and the new baby, but at the same time, it's unlike any feeling I've ever had before. My boobies started to ache (it was like a deep ache and tender to the touch) and I had the slightest bit of morning sickness (in the morning actually), frequent urination, and heightened sense of smell. I also slept like complete crap that night but it may have been due to worrying/excitement since I scheduled my first doctor's appointment for the next day and it really is making things start to feel real! I am so excited, but so nervous too!

4 Weeks 4 Days - We had our first doctor's appointment and it was awesome! Since I just had my last exam in June, I didn't have to have another, so that was good. We got a little baggie full of pregnancy pamphlets and magazines and coupons. We learned a lot of really cool stuff! In two weeks we'll get to have our first ultrasound and they even have this blood work test thing they can do at 12 weeks that will tell us the sex of the baby! At 12 weeks! That's before Christmas. When we announce to our extended families, we'll be able to tell them the sex too! That's so stinkin' exciting! Also found out our local grocery store pharmacy gives free prenatal vitamins, which is pretty cool. Found out I can't eat my two favorite salad dressings! In-house Bleu Cheese and Caesar are off the table. Great. I guess I'll be stuck with Ranch and Zesty Italian for the remaining 8.33 months. :-P They took my blood, which was gross of course, but not as bad as I thought it would be and I got my flu shot. As they were taking my blood, one of the nurses asked me what I was secretly hoping for and I said a boy! I am almost convinced it's a boy. I want a boy so he can be an older brother to our next children but I never thought I would be saying something like that. I've always thought little girls are the cutest thing. I have two nieces, and I'm one of three girls. We are a family full of chicks, so it would be very strange, we wouldn't even know what to do with a boy! Haha.

4 Weeks 5 Days - My boobies are not as achey as they were earlier in the week. Nipples are still pretty sensitive though. Maybe somebody at work found out today when I told them I needed off by a certain time for my next doc appt. We have decided to tell our parents on Nov. 1. My dad's birthday is Nov. 2 and we'll have had our first ultrasound on Oct. 29, where we'll be able to see or hear the heartbeat hopefully. Then we'll wait till Christmas for our extended family and other friends and YouTube and this blog!

4 Weeks 6 Days - No new symptoms. Still no morning sickness (I thought it was coming on Monday, but it turned out to be okay). I feel like the breathlessness I felt in the beginning is not as bad, or I'm just getting used to it.

Keep a look out for the Week 6 update! I wish I could post these in real time for everyone, but I feel like I'll be more comfortable if I wait awhile. I'm bad with secret keeping though!

Love,
Alaina and Tiny Baby
