New Stuff at the Drugstore: Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Color & Jordana Cat Eye Liner & Modern Matte Lipstick

Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Color - A359 The Stand Out

The color looks so beautiful, a light lavender kind of color, but I'm just not totally happy with how it comes out on my particular complexion.  It has a little more pink than the purple I was expecting and I feel like it comes off more as a baby pink on me, a color that I don't always dig.

Leaves a stain on the hand, but no noticeable stain on the lips.

Lasts about like a regular lipstick.  You can get about three hours wear if you aren't eating/drinking/talking excessively.  Doesn't last through a meal.

Feels super duper lightweight, I almost forget I'm wearing anything half of the time.  However, it isn't moisturizing for my picky dry lips.  It's not crazy drying either though, it's pretty neutral, just like you're wearing nothing.

The light color emphasizes my dry lips, but the darker shades that I purchased a few days later, did not. (darker shades added to the end of the blog post)

Jordana Cat Eye Liner - 03 Orchid

Matte base with little shimmers.

Needs two coats to make opaque.

Can look a bit wrinkly on the lid, but does not crack!

No smudging or water-resistant problems.

Lasts super long.  You have to scrub if you don't use oil-based types of makeup removers.

Awesome deal for the price. I would recommend.  Plus there are several other cool colors to choose from.

Jordana Modern Matte Lipstick - 08 Matte It Girl

Lasts really well throughout the day.  You could wear this several hours no problem, no touch-ups needed.  It even lasts through a regular meal if you're wondering.

By the fourth hour, my lips start to feel dry. (FYI: I have dry and sensitive lips)

Does transfer, but I wasn't expecting it not to.

Leaves a stain behind but it's not difficult to remove with a regular makeup wipe.

My other favorite matte lipsticks are the NYX Matte Lipsticks.  This Jordana one is really giving NYX a run for their money though.  When I get more shades to try out, then we'll really see which matte lipstick wins in my book. :)

Bottom Line:
This is an awesome lip product and I would definitely pick up more colors and recommend it to you guys!

Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Color - A356 Plumgenue & A355 Fashion Darling

Since I was not too impressed with the original color I picked up from Wet n Wild, I went back to Walgreens to get some of the other shades and I am glad I did because I believe it makes the review a bit more well-rounded and I am overall much happier with the product since I have tried out a couple more colors that I find suit me better.

Overall, I would recommend the Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Colors.  They are lightweight and feel great on the lips and the size of the pencil is perfect if you ask me.  I would say I have pretty normal sized lips, they aren't small or big and I think the size of this pencil is just great.  Most other "lip pencils" I come across are gigantic and it makes getting a defined edge on your lips really difficult.  Also, I like the packaging: twist up product and the matte finish all over is really sleek: an awesome step up from some of the other crap Wet n Wild packaging we've all gotten to know.

Only cons are that the shade range is limited and I don't find that the packing colors truly represent the color of the product inside.

Fashion Darling is a brick red with a bit of an orange undertone.
Plumgenue is a deep berry.

Although they did look similar initially, on the lips you can tell the differences between the two.
(my lips are pretty dry in this pic, so please excuse me)

Here are the three shades swatched together.

Thanks for reading!
Love,
Alaina
