Here are my opinions on the Lorac Lip Lustre Gloss. The particular shade I have is called Ruby Lustre and it's a very pretty red with little red and silver-y shimmers in it. First of all, it smells delightful, like sugar. Mmmm. :)
It's a very pretty color. Great for the holidays! It has wonderful dimension and pretty shimmers. However, you can really feel the shimmery particles on your lips, which I could see would drive some people nuts, but it's not a deal-breaker or anything for me personally.
This gloss lasts about the same typical time that any other gloss would last, just a couple of hours. It is opaque enough to wear on its own, you don't necessarily need to just use it on top of a lipstick.
The thing that I don't particularly enjoy about this lip product is the applicator. The tiny little brush is strange and I find it difficult to work with. It can make the gloss application streaky or even apply a big glob in one area and wipe away product in another. Unless you have like teeny tiny lips and find typical large applicators a pain in the butt, then I don't find this brush to be great. The brush is short and stubby. I would much rather prefer a doe-foot applicator, I just have never really liked lip glosses with brush applicators. The tiny brush could be good if you are applying this on top of another lipstick and just want a little glisten in the center of your lips, however.
Overall, I do not believe I will be repurchasing this lip product. It's not anything spectacular and there are other lip glosses on the market on the more affordable end of things that are very comparable, such as the Flower Beauty lip gloss in LG9; it has the same little shimmers and an overall very similar look/effect on the lips, plus the Flower Beauty one retails for $6.98 at Walmart instead of $15 for Lorac at Ulta Beauty.
Thanks for reading!
Love,
Alaina
