Review :: Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Daily Balancing Moisturizer

I have read some VERY mixed reviews on this product.  It's definitely not one of those things everyone is raving about.  I didn't come across it that way either.  I've been searching for a moisturizer that will make my silly oily skin stop being so oily!  I found some Lush face products that I really think are doing some good stuff for my skin, but I didn't want to spend $25+ on a moisturizer from Lush to finish revamping my skincare routine, so while at Target, I was just browsing the Yes To section (whose products I've always had good experiences with) and decided I'd give it a try.

(just fyi, it's not like I'm trying to do an all-natural thing with my skin, I just happened to visit Lush for the first time a few weeks ago, and got a little obsessed, and since I was in the mood to shop and also really having some issues with my oily skin because of the summer heat and humidity, I just found it to be the perfect time to try out Lush skincare products, and I actually really liked them & really wanted to try a moisturizer too, but they were just too pricey for me)

This Yes to Tomatoes moisturizer gives a nice finish, unlike any other moisturizer I've tried before (I've never tried one marketed directly towards oily skin folks though, fyi).  I would not call it a matte finish, maybe semi-matte.  It does not look shiny/wet like the usual moisturizers I have encountered, but isn't totally matte like a foundation can do for your skin.  It doesn't make me look particularly oilier than usual and also doesn't make me feel oilier either, which is good.  At least it isn't making the situation worse than it already is lol.

The pump with this moisturizer is very cool, handy, and super convenient, not to mention it makes travel super easy too, with a decreased chance of getting it spilled all over your stuff, especially due to the cap on top. Good idea.

The scent is a little strong.  I can be very sensitive to some smells and I must say this is right on the edge of being one of them that drives me nuts.  It also lingers for quite awhile too, honestly, after about 2 hours, I no longer smell it (or maybe I just get used to it).  I doesn't smell bad, but it sure is strong.  It's almost a sweet scent with a little bit of spice.

I can definitely feel the moisturizer sitting on my skin and it takes a good 2+ hours to totally sink in.  It doesn't feel too heavy on the face, but I can feel it when I touch my face with my fingers and it still feels dewy, but not sticky.

Also, I had a couple pimples the day I started using this but they were totally gone the very next day, I'm not sure if that's just a coincidence or if it really worked that quickly! Lol.

Overall, I'm not totally crazy about this moisturizer.  It's one of the nicer ones I have tried, but still not the perfect moisturizer I've been looking for.  I will probably not repurchase because I sure hope there is something better out there for my oily skin, but I'm not hating it in the mean time. :)

Thanks for reading!
Love,
